Art Tutor
OVERVIEW
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and committed Art Tutor to join ColourWheel Art Classes and inspire adult learners in a supportive and engaging environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in art, a genuine passion for creative education, and excellent communication skills. They will be confident in guiding students of all abilities, from complete beginners to more experienced artists, helping them develop their skills, confidence, and individual artistic style. DUTIES
- Plan and deliver engaging art sessions tailored to adult learners with varying skill levels
- Introduce a range of artistic techniques, materials, and styles to encourage exploration and personal expression
- Provide individual guidance and constructive feedback to support skill development
- Adapt teaching approaches to suit different abilities, interests, and learning goals
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and social studio environment
- Prepare lesson plans and organise materials and resources in advance of sessions
- Encourage creativity, confidence, and experimentation in all participants
- Maintain a safe, organised, and inspiring workspace
- Communicate clearly with participants regarding sessions, materials, and progress where appropriate.

WORKING HOURS
- Wednesdays afternoons and evening – 6 hours
- Possible additional session on Friday evenings – 2 hours
SKILLS
- Experience in teaching or tutoring art, particularly with adults or mixed-ability groups
- Possess excellent subject knowledge
- Strong practical skills across a range of media (e.g. drawing, painting, mixed media)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to support and motivate adult learners in a relaxed and encouraging manner
- Flexible and adaptable teaching style to suit individual goals and experience levels
- Curriculum development
- Organised and reliable, with good planning and time management skills
- Genuine passion for art and helping others develop creatively
- Effective and clear communicator with strong classroom presence
- Problem solving in the absence of the Partner
- Possess at least two years’ experience in a similar role

Pay: From £25.00 per hour
