Building Services Engineering Technician

Ref: 001635

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £34,434 - £38,220 per annum (Grade 6)

Hours: 36.66 per week

Location: Base - Spindles Council Offices Oldham, working at remote premises and sites.

Closing Date: Sunday 2 August 2026

Interview Date: TBC.

Role Overview:

To undertake site based building services equipment maintenance, including weekly and daily inspections to fulfil statutory obligations and to enable effective property management

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintenance activities, including daily, weekly monitoring to fulfil statutory obligations, maintain equipment and systems operational and enable effective facilities management.
To provide an out of hours stand by service for the building
Provide supervision and performance management to service providers, to support the delivery of maintenance and project works to a satisfactory standard

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

A recognised qualification in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (e.g. ONC/OND or equivalent)
Proven experience of working within teams and managing external service providers to deliver compliant, safe, and efficient mechanical engineering services.
Strong technical knowledge of building services systems, statutory compliance, and health and safety requirements within a property or public-sector environment.
