Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Holiday Camp Assistants and Leaders to support our team in delivering a safe, active, and engaging holiday camp experience for children. The ideal candidate will be a confident and proactive specialist, capable of leading multi-sports sessions, creative crafts, and child-led activities, while also working alongside an amazing team.

You will play a key part in keeping children active, safe, engaged, and learning. The role provides an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership and teaching skills while having fun, staying active alongside the children, and contributing to a positive holiday experience.

Qualifications: Essential

Enhanced DBS certificate (required)
Safeguarding certificate (required)
Paediatric or Emergency First Aid qualification (required)
Confidence leading multi-sports and creative activitiesDesirable
Experience working with children in a school, sports, childcare, or camp setting is desirable
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm, responsible, and proactive in a busy environment
Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and child welfare practices
Willingness to undertake further training where required

Responsibilities

Assist in supervising children throughout all camp activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times

Lead and support multi-sports sessions, creative crafts, and child-led activities

Support external specialists, including Forest School and Martial Arts instructors, ensuring sessions run smoothly

Maintain a vigilant presence during outdoor play, trips, and structured sessions

Implement camp expectations consistently, promoting a READY, RESPECTFUL, SAFE environment

Engage positively with children to encourage participation, teamwork, and confidence

Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians regarding daily updates or concerns

Follow the provided timetable to ensure facilities are prepared for specialist staff and scheduled activities

Respond appropriately to minor injuries, complete incident report forms, and follow safeguarding procedures where necessary

Maintain cleanliness across communal areas including toilets, dining areas, and activity spaces

Carry out routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and emptying bins. Complete and sign required cleanliness documentation

Conduct a thorough clean-down at the end of the camp to ensure facilities are left as provided

Maintain daily communication with the Holiday Programme Manager regarding any concerns

Location & Hours

We operate multiple holiday camp sites across Manchester, Beswick, Burnage, Fallowfield, and Stockport.

Camp hours vary between 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM and 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM, depending on the site. Your daily rate will reflect the hours you are able to work. This role requires availability for the full half-term.

Summer Camp Dates:

Camps will run from Friday 24th July to Friday 28th August. Some camps will run for 16 days, while some venues will run for 25 days.

Please note that staff training is mandatory and will take place in person on Thursday 23rd August.

During your interview, you will discuss your availability and preferred locations. Wherever possible, we will schedule you at the nearest camp to you.
