Role Overview
The Management Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis to support decision-making across Ocasa’s property portfolio. The role focuses on budgeting, forecasting, property-level performance, and ensuring strong financial control within the business.
Working closely with wider finance team and senior leadership, the role provides financial insight into rental income, operating costs, capital expenditure, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial accounts including accruals, prepayments and journal entries.
- Support the timely and accurate month end close process.
- Reconciling balance sheets ensuring completeness and accuracy (including the management accounts to the general ledger).
- Assist with variance analysis and commentaries.
- Finance business partnering to operational departments providing financial data and understanding variances to budgets / forecasts.
- Provide support during audits including assisting with audit queries.
- Support annual budgeting process across the portfolio, including rental income, operating expenses, and capital expenditure
- Monitor KPI’s such as occupancy rates, arrears, lease expires and cost per unit.
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects such as cost saving initiatives, new development or funding applications.
- Ownership of service charge accounting for a small portfolio of properties.
- Maintain financial controls over property income and expenditure.
- Any other duties as reasonably required.
Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified or part qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. lookups, pivot tables) and experience with accounting software.
- Exceptional communication skills
- (written and verbal), with the ability to build rapport with others easily and form strong working relationships.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work towards deadlines and manage time effectively.
- Previous experience working in a finance or accounting role.
