We’re recruiting a Buying Assistant to support our buying team in sourcing products that help our customers enjoy the best night’s sleep. This is a hands-on, office-based role with opportunities to be involved in supplier relationships, product administration and range maintenance.

The job:

Support the buying team with purchase ordering, price comparisons and supplier administration.
Maintain accurate product records, specifications and cost information in buying systems.
Work with suppliers to manage lead times, stock availability and quality issues.
Assist with range reviews, seasonal launches and product lifecycle tasks.
Prepare regular reports and maintain data to support commercial decisions.
Collaborate with colleagues across merchandising, supply chain and stores to ensure products are delivered to plan.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and supplier performance improvements.

Who do we want?

Essential:

Previous experience in a buying, merchandising or administrative role within retail or a related sector.
Strong numeracy and attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records.
Good communication skills and the ability to build effective supplier and internal relationships.
Confident using Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP or buying systems (desirable).
Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks to deadlines.

Desirable:

Knowledge of the beds, furniture or homewares market.
Experience working with product specifications, costings and margin analysis.
Experience of working with international suppliers and basic understanding of import processes.
