Full job description

Part-Time HR Advisor / HR Officer (3 Days per Week)

Location: Manchester OfficeHours: 3 days per week (flexible)Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced, proactive HR professional to support our people and strengthen our HR function.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced SME environment, can confidently manage employee relations, and wants to make a real impact within a growing business.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Directors, you will take ownership of the day-to-day HR function, ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation while supporting managers and employees across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Managing employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence management.
Advising managers on UK employment law and HR best practice.
Supporting recruitment, interviewing and onboarding of new employees.
Maintaining employee records and HR documentation.
Drafting contracts, letters and HR correspondence.
Managing probation reviews and performance management processes.
Supporting learning and development initiatives.
Monitoring sickness absence and employee wellbeing.
Ensuring company policies remain compliant and up to date.
Supporting investigations and preparing documentation where required.
Assisting with payroll-related administration where necessary.
Helping develop a positive company culture and employee engagement.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

Experienced in a standalone or generalist HR role.
Confident handling complex employee relations matters.
Up to date with UK employment legislation.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Professional, approachable and trustworthy.
Comfortable working independently and managing their own workload.
A confident communicator at all levels.
CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards) is desirable but not essential with the right experience.
