Aori Street Food is looking for a reliable and skilled Grill Chef to join our growing kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment and a passion for preparing high-quality food to consistent standards. The successful candidate will take ownership of grill preparation and service while maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen organisation. The role includes working with a vertically mounted rotisserie with a fixed directional rotation. Applicants should be comfortable adapting their workflow to this equipment configuration. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes, portion controls and quality standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served efficiently to meet operational and customer service expectations.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen and back-of-house (BOH) areas.
- Follow all food safety procedures and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen colleagues to maintain smooth and effective service.
- Monitor stock and ingredient levels and report shortages or ordering requirements to management.
- Support wider kitchen operations and assist with food preparation tasks when required.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment is essential (minimum 2 years).
- Strong food preparation skills, particularly grilling techniques and cooking methods.
- Sound understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently and remain organised in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time effectively and maintain consistent food quality under pressure during busy service times.
