Job Overview

Astra Telematics is a small but significant player in the global IoT device industry. Our devices are used in a diverse range of vehicles and applications all over the world. We operate within a fast-paced market with rapidly changing technology and ever more demanding applications. We are currently seeking an Electronic Bench Technician to take responsibility for our repairs and technical support activities. Based at our office in Trafford Park, the role is suited to an organised and methodical individual, with a passion for technology, and an academic qualification in electronics. There are opportunities to move into hardware or software development for suitably talented and ambitious individuals.

Essential Requirements:

Attention to detail
An organised working manner
Excellent manual dexterity
Knowledge of electronics and ability to understand schematics
Use of handheld soldering-iron and hot-air soldering rework tools
Logical thinking
Problem solving

Responsibilities will include:

Management of our RMA system for authorising customer returns
Inspection, testing and diagnosis of RMA returns
Repair of IoT devices at PCB level
Technical support for our (non-technical) internal team and our clients
Support the development team with testing new hardware and software
