Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Trade Counter / Warehouse Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent service at the trade counter, assisting with warehouse operations, supporting sales activities and paint colour mixing (training will be given) .The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, effective communication abilities, and a friendly demeanour.

Please note: some heavy lifting will be required during our paint mixing process upwards of 20KG.

Fork truck trained would be an advantage as would a driving license.

Responsibilities

Serve customers efficiently at the trade counter, providing product information and assistance
Paint colour mixing (training given)
Assist in merchandising products to optimise display and accessibility
Manage stock levels, organise warehouse storage, and ensure items are correctly labelled
Support inventory management through stock checks and replenishment
Handle phone enquiries professionally, demonstrating good phone manner
Upsell relevant products to maximise sales opportunities
Maintain a clean and organised workspace both at the counter and in the warehouse
Assist with loading and unloading goods from delivery vehicles as required

Experience

Previous experience in retail, merchandising, or warehouse environments is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Strong communication skills is highly desirable
Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock counts
Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to manage time effectively to prioritise duties throughout the day
Excellent phone manner and customer service abilities
