We are seeking an experienced European Export Coordinator to join our growing operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised freight professional with extensive experience in European exports, customs formalities, and groupage operations.
The successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end export process for shipments across Europe, ensuring smooth operational flow from quotation through to final delivery.
You will work closely with customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, transport partners, and internal teams to ensure all shipments are managed efficiently, compliantly, and to the highest service standards.
This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving ability, and proven experience within UK to European export freight forwarding, including customs and documentation management.
Quotation Management
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations for export shipments across Europe
- Calculate transport charges, customs costs, duties, and associated fees
- Provide commercially competitive solutions to customers
Shipment Coordination
- Manage the movement of goods from the UK into European destinations
- Coordinate with hauliers, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely delivery
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve issues
Groupage & Consolidation
- Oversee daily and scheduled groupage shipments
- Ensure freight is consolidated accurately and dispatched efficiently
- Liaise with warehouse and transport planning teams
Customs Compliance
- Handle all export customs formalities
- Ensure accurate completion and submission of export declarations
- Maintain full compliance with UK and relevant European customs regulations
- Manage transit documentation, export entries, and related customs paperwork
Documentation Management
- Prepare and check all commercial, transport, and customs documents
- Ensure documentation is accurate, compliant, and filed correctly
- Maintain audit-ready records at all times
Supplier & Partner Liaison
- Liaise directly with UK suppliers, EU suppliers, and European partners
- Maintain strong communication channels to ensure smooth operations
- Build and manage effective working relationships
Issue Resolution
- Resolve delays, customs holds, documentation issues, and operational challenges
- Minimise disruption to the supply chain
- Provide proactive updates to all stakeholders
Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies within European export processes
- Recommend and implement operational improvements
- Support service development and workflow enhancements
Essential Requirements
- Extensive experience in European export freight forwarding
- Proven knowledge of European export operations
- Strong understanding of customs formalities and export documentation
- Experience managing groupage shipments
- Knowledge of UK export declarations and customs compliance
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and commercial awareness
- Previous experience liaising with European partners and overseas agents
