Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Ocean Freight and Purchase Order Administrator to join our lmport department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of ocean freight operations and purchase orders, along with assisting with order forecasting ensuring seamless coordination between suppliers, carriers, and internal departments. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics procedures, and relevant software systems to optimise efficiency and compliance within our organisation.

Salary Pro Rata for 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

Oversee and process purchase orders related to ocean freight shipments, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, 3PL providers, and internal teams to schedule shipments and track progress.
Utilise transportation management systems, shipment documentation, and communication flows.
Monitor shipment status and resolve any issues related to delays, damages, or customs clearance.
Negotiate terms with carriers, suppliers, and logistics partners to optimise service levels.
Maintain detailed records of shipments, purchase orders, packing lists and related documentation for audit purposes.
Ensure adherence to supply chain standards and regulatory requirements throughout the shipping process.
Assist in updates with communications and shipment tracking updates.
Overseeing UK wholesale orders and managing the haulage and booking in.

Requirements

Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, including ocean freight operations and 3PL management.
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail for data entry and documentation accuracy.
Effective negotiation skills to secure favourable terms with carriers and suppliers.
Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a team environment.
