This is a front-line role working with members of the public across a range of banking transactions. Typical duties include serving customers with everyday banking needs and handling transactions accurately and efficiently. Excellent numeracy skills are essential for this fast-paced position.
Previous cash-handling experience is essential, along with experience working in a customer-facing role. Computer literacy is also essential for this role.

About the Role
As a Banking Hub Assistant, you will play an important role in delivering excellent service to both personal and business banking customers. Customers will be at the heart of everything you do, and you will be expected to provide a friendly, efficient, and professional experience at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
- Handling cash transactions accurately and securely, including deposits, withdrawals, cheque processing, and change requests
- Assisting customers with bill payments and utility top-ups
- Providing excellent face-to-face customer service and resolving queries professionally
- Liaising with visiting representatives from various banks and supporting customers with their enquiries
- Maintaining high standards of compliance, security, and confidentiality
- Completing all required training and following operational procedures
- Working effectively both independently and as part of a team

Essential Requirements
- A minimum of three years’ cash-handling experience
- Previous experience in a customer-facing retail, banking, or Post Office environment
- Strong numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work on your own initiative
- A professional and calm approach when dealing with customer queries or complaints
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer literacy skills are essential
- Applicants should ideally live within approximately 20 minutes of Sandbach, as the role may occasionally require opening the Hub promptly. Being locally based helps ensure reliable travel during busy traffic periods.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous Post Office counter or banking experience
- Full UK driving licence
Successful candidates will be required to provide five years of continuous references and consent to a DBS/criminal record check.
