SLT for Kids provide high quality speech and language therapy assessments, reports and treatments for children. Our team of experienced and dedicated speech and language therapists work with children of varying needs and difficulties to improve speech, language and communication skills. We work with individuals in clinic, at home and in educational settings such as mainstream and special schools, to deliver SLT assessments and therapy programmes. SLT for Kids has an exciting opportunity for an associate paediatric speech and language therapists. We have job opportunities for Band 6 SLTs, Band 7 team lead SLTs and Band 8 consultant SLTs. We are looking to develop our network of speech and language therapists to provide specialist assessment and treatment of children with dysphagia, voice problems and / or complex speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
An associate paediatric speech and language therapist at SLT for Kids would be involved in working with individuals in clinic, at home and in educational settings such as mainstream and special schools, to deliver SLT assessments and therapy programmes. SLT for Kids are committed to helping children achieve their maximum potential by providing support that can really make a difference to children, their families schools and communities. This position may also be of interest to speech and language therapists looking for additional work alongside their current role.

To be successful in this role you would need to:

- Produce high quality reports and clearly communicate their professional opinion (written and verbal).
- Be able to consider the holistic needs of each child when working to achieve their goals.
- Work alongside other speech and language therapists and assistants, supporting and supervising as appropriate.
- Develop a strong rapport with children and their parents, education staff and other health professionals.
- Act as a champion for the service and speech and language therapy as a profession.
- Demonstrate commitment to CPD and keep up to date with new techniques.
The ideal candidate:
The successful applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Qualified speech and language therapist (preferably above Band 5).
- Eligible for RCSLT membership.
- Completed RCSLT competencies.
- HCPC Registered.
- Enhanced DBS.
- Experience working with children (minimum 2 years, preferably including NHS experience).
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience providing speech and language therapy assessments and interventions for adults.

They will also be passionate about their own continuous professional development (CPD).
The successful candidate will work well collaboratively and will be open minded and keen to learn from the experiences of other professionals around them. They will be capable of working independently, prioritising and organising their own workload appropriately and able to use their initiative to deal effectively with a varying situations that may arise.
As the role will involve travelling between locations, we would recommend having a driving licence and access to a car.
