Full job description

Staff Wanted: Comedy Club Show Tech & Floor Assistant

Creatures Comedy Club is looking for a reliable, organised staff member to help run our live comedy shows.

This is a hands-on role covering basic show tech, audience entry, show recording, and helping us prepare footage for social media edits.

The role includes:

Running the sound/tech desk during stand-up comedy shows. This is mostly simple tech, but may occasionally include PowerPoints, timed sound cues, walk-on music, or specific show requirements.

Making announcements on the mic at the start of shows and during the evening where needed.

Making sure the camera is recording at the start of each show.

Watching the shows and making notes of strong moments, funny interactions, and clip-worthy sections to help the editing team find the best bits later.

After the show, offloading the footage, separating comedians’ sets, and clipping the strongest moments ready for the editor to work with.

The role also includes scanning tickets on the door, welcoming audience members, and running the popcorn machine.

Equipment & software used:

Panasonic GH5 camera
Adobe Suite - mainly Premiere Pro
Basic sound desk / live show tech equipment

You don’t need to be an expert with everything listed, but some confidence with cameras, video files, or basic editing software would be helpful.

We’re looking for someone who is:

Reliable and confident working during live events
Comfortable using basic sound and tech equipment
Able to stay focused during shows and spot funny moments
Confident enough to speak on a microphone
Organised with files, footage, and show notes
Friendly with audiences and performers
Interested in comedy, live events, or video content

Previous experience with live tech, video editing, cameras, or comedy is helpful, but not essential. Training can be provided for the right person.

Pay: £13.50 per hour
