The Role
Our client, a leading infrastructure and civil engineering specialist is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to support the delivery of a complex civil engineering project in East Anglia, with a heavy focus on Temporary Works. This role will take technical ownership of engineering activities within a defined section of the project, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant delivery.
You will play a key role in developing construction methodology, managing engineering risk, and leading the planning, coordination and control of Temporary Works from concept through to implementation.

Key Responsibilities
Temporary Works & Engineering Leadership
· Take the lead on Temporary Works planning, coordination and delivery
· Identify Temporary Works requirements and manage the interface with the Temporary Works Coordinator
· Review, challenge and support Temporary Works designs, methodologies and sequencing
· Ensure Temporary Works are implemented and dismantled safely and in line with approved designs
· Anticipate engineering and construction risks and proactively implement mitigation measures
Project & Construction Delivery
· Manage engineering delivery for a section of works, ensuring alignment with programme, safety, quality and cost targets
· Develop and support construction methodologies and sequencing
· Lead engineering problem-solving on site and provide technical direction to the team
· Understand and manage the critical path and engineering interfaces
· Coordinate and delegate work to engineers and site teams, monitoring progress and performance
Health, Safety & Quality
· Ensure works are delivered in full compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards
· Maintain and review risk assessments and method statements for engineering activities
· Promote strong safety leadership and a proactive risk management culture on site
Commercial & Programme Awareness
· Understand the cost and programme implications of engineering and Temporary Works decisions
· Support cost control through efficient engineering solutions and planning
· Contribute to progress reporting and site documentation

Skills & Experience
Essential
· Proven experience in a Senior Engineer role delivering civil engineering works
· Strong background in Temporary Works on construction or infrastructure projects
· Confident decision-maker with strong technical and engineering judgement
· Experience managing engineering teams and coordinating site activities
· Good understanding of construction methodology, programme and risk management
Desirable
· Experience on large or complex infrastructure schemes
· Temporary Works Supervisor or Coordinator experience
· Understanding of BIM or digital engineering principles
· Willingness to lodge away from home during the working week
