Main Purposes and Scope of the Job:
A key member of the NPD team to provide process and packaging support in the successful development and launch of new products. The role will assist with packaging development, factory trials, artwork coordination, process documentation and project administration, helping to ensure products are launched efficiently, meet customer requirements and comply with relevant legislation.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Packaging Support
- Support the NPD Team by sourcing primary and secondary packaging for new product launches and maintaining packaging databases ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate packaging samples and ensure packaging materials are available for factory trials.
- Assist with the management and approval of packaging artwork, including legal text, cutter guides, date coding and barcodes.
- Update retailer portals with packaging specification information.
- Assist with packaging compliance activities, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) submissions and sustainability data.
- Maintain inventories of packaging materials and NPD packaging stock.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain packaging samples, specifications and technical information.
- Assist with transit testing and record results.
Process & Factory Trial Support
- Assist with the planning and coordination of factory trials.
- Attend factory trials, recording observations, yields and any production issues.
- Support the completion of launch documentation, including in-house specifications, process methodology and product attribute sheets.
- Collect production data and prepare reports following factory trials.
- Coordinate product samples for internal assessment and customer submissions.
- Support travel testing and record findings.
General NPD Support
- Maintain accurate project documentation and filing systems.
- Attend weekly NPD meetings and update project actions where required.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across packaging and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with company procedures.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, quality and health & safety.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the needs of the business.
About you:
- Qualifications and / or experience within a food manufacturing or packaging development environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to build good internal and external working relationships
- Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft office, especially excel.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- A genuine passion for food, ingredients, packaging and innovation.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and quick to learn
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
