Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee daily activities within our Charity. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, exceptional organisational skills, and a proven track record in management roles across the charity sector and grant bids.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive operational excellence, optimise team performance, and contribute to the overall success of our Charity. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing teams, streamlining processes, and ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintained. This position is paid and suitable for candidates with a passion for leadership and organisational development.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the board of trustees.
Write and secure Grant Bids
Lead, motivate, and supervise teams to achieve operational targets and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Develop and implement effective management strategies to optimise the support our charity gives our members and community.
Oversee daily operations including staff scheduling, and administrative duties to ensure smooth workflow.
Manage team recruitment, training programmes, and performance appraisals to foster professional growth in conjunction with Appointed Trustees.
Maintain high standards of communication within the team and with external stakeholders through excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
Organise and coordinate activities and Grant goals.
Monitor staffing, budgets and daily costings.
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, company policies, and Charity Commision standards at all times.
Facilitate effective time management across departments to meet deadlines and optimise productivity.

Experience

Proven management experience in Charity Management with focus on team supervision and operational oversight.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to organise teams effectively and foster a collaborative working environment.
Demonstrated experience in supervising staff, and implementing grants.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Administrative experience including report writing, data analysis, and utilisation of management software is preferred.
Exceptional communication skills—both verbal and written—with a professional phone manner.
Experience in managing budgets, is advantageous. This role offers an engaging environment where leadership qualities are valued highly alongside organisational expertise.
