Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Food Safety & Quality Coordinator to support the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems within our chilled food packing and distribution operation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with food safety legislation, HACCP principles, customer requirements and company procedures. The role will involve working closely with the HSEQ Department, operational teams and management to maintain high standards of food safety, quality and compliance.
The operation involves the receipt, storage, packing and dispatch of sealed chilled ready meals. No food preparation, cooking or repacking activities are undertaken on site.
Key Responsibilities
Food Safety and HACCP
- Assist in maintaining and continuously improving the site's HACCP system.
- Participate in HACCP team meetings and contribute to hazard analysis reviews.
- Support the review and maintenance of HACCP documentation and prerequisite programmes.
- Assist with allergen management processes and controls.
- Monitor compliance with food safety procedures throughout the site.
- Support investigations into food safety incidents, non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventative actions.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct routine food safety and quality inspections.
- Complete ATP hygiene monitoring and verification activities.
- Support internal auditing programmes and follow-up actions.
- Assist with traceability exercises and product recall testing.
- Monitor temperature records and chilled storage compliance.
- Verify completion and accuracy of food safety documentation and records.
- Support supplier approval and monitoring activities.
- Assist with customer and third-party audit preparation.
Training and Compliance
- Deliver and support food safety and hygiene training for employees.
- Promote food safety awareness across all departments.
- Assist with induction training for new starters.
- Support compliance with food safety legislation and industry best practices.
- Assist in maintaining training records and competency assessments.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain food safety and quality records in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist in preparing reports relating to food safety performance, audit findings and compliance activities.
- Support the management of corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure documentation is current, accurate and readily available for audit purposes.

Essential Qualifications
- HACCP Level 3
- Food Safety Level 3
- Internal Auditor Qualification
Desirable Qualifications
- HACCP Level 4
- Lead Auditor Qualification
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Additional food safety or quality management qualifications
Essential Experience
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing, food packing or food distribution environment.
- Experience working with HACCP-based food safety management systems.
- Experience carrying out food safety inspections and audits.
- Experience managing food safety documentation and records.
- Experience delivering food safety training.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within chilled food operations.
- Experience supporting SALSA, BRCGS or similar food safety standards.
- Experience conducting traceability exercises and recall testing.
- Experience with ATP hygiene monitoring systems.
- Experience investigating non-conformances and implementing corrective actions.
Knowledge and Skills
- Good understanding of food safety legislation and HACCP principles.
