Full job description

HGV Driver/Operator - Class 1 & 2, Dayshift

We are looking to recruit experienced and professional HGV drivers.

Working Hours / Schedule Dayshift We are looking for both full time & ADHOC drivers

Outline of role

Class 1 consist of Flatbed, Walking Floor, Skip Lorry & Trailer, Curtain side & Tipper.

Class 2 consist of Chain lifts, Hook Arm/RORO, Grab/Tipper, HIAB & Eurobins Lorries.

Be able to conduct mandatory pre use, during, post checks & report any defects as applicable; Ability to interact with customers & general public alike:

A detailed understanding of Drivers Hours & the Working Time Directive, traffic laws & regulations;

Completing necessary paperwork/documentation accurately, including waste & delivery notes, use of a PDA / Tablet system to access & completions of work:

Assist in loading, securing & unloading;

Adhere to company driving policy & procedures;

Manual handling, working at height & banksman duties as required:

Collect, convey & deliver numerous waste streams & products;

Willing to undertake familiarisation training on different company assets;

Adhere to delivery schedule & routes whilst adhering to a high level of professionalism & customer service;

Ability to work safely

Taking pride in company assets ensuring they are cleaned, maintained, roadworthy in accordance with both statutory requirements, company policy & procedures.

Salary

Starting rate from £14.50 p/h + Bonuses

Due to insurance purposes the above rates are applicable to drivers over 25 years of age and a minimum of 2 years’ experience. Applicants outside these criteria will be considered and rates will be discussed at the interview stage.

Licence/Certification

Hold a valid driving licence (category C & or C+E essential)

Due to insurance purposes are over the age of 25 & minimum of 2 years (advantageous but will consider for the right applicant);

Hold a valid & in date Digital Tacho Card & Driver Certificate Professional Competence Card;

Mandatory licence check via DVLA prior to employment.

Experience

Previous experience within the waste/recycling industry is advantageous.
