Join the Team at The Bakers Arms

The Bakers Arms is being reimagined as an exciting new destination restaurant in the heart of Leicestershire.

Under new ownership, we are creating a refined yet welcoming restaurant focused on exceptional food, outstanding wines, genuine hospitality and memorable guest experiences. Our aim is to combine the standards of fine dining with the warmth and character of a great country restaurant.

Guests can expect a carefully curated wine programme, seasonal tasting menus, classic hospitality and a drinks offering built around exceptional wines, premium spirits, carefully crafted cocktails and quality coffee.

We are now seeking a passionate, professional and ambitious Bartender to join our opening front of house team.

The Role

As a Bartender, you will play a key role in creating memorable guest experiences. Whether preparing a perfectly balanced classic cocktail, recommending a spirit, serving a glass of wine or crafting a coffee, you will take pride in delivering every drink to the highest standard.

This is a hands-on role suited to individuals who genuinely enjoy hospitality and have a passion for drinks, guest interaction and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve cocktails, wines, spirits, beers and non-alcoholic beverages to a consistently high standard
Deliver warm, professional and knowledgeable service to all guests
Confidently describe drinks, ingredients and flavour profiles, making thoughtful recommendations tailored to guest preferences
Assist in the development of seasonal cocktails and special drinks offerings
Follow cocktail specifications and service standards with precision and consistency
Prepare and serve quality coffee beverages
Work alongside the Sommelier to develop your wine knowledge and gain exposure to an ambitious wine programme featuring both classic and emerging producers
Maintain exceptional cleanliness, organisation and presentation standards behind the bar
Assist with opening and closing duties
Handle guest queries and feedback professionally, ensuring every guest leaves with a positive impression
Support colleagues across the restaurant, recognising that exceptional hospitality is achieved through teamwork
Contribute to a positive, professional and ambitious team culture

What We're Looking For

Previous bar experience required
Strong knowledge of classic cocktails is essential
A passion for hospitality, drinks and guest experience
Wine knowledge is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation
The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment
A creative mindset and enthusiasm for cocktail development
A desire to learn and develop within a quality-focused restaurant
