Push Power is seeking a highly organised, commercially aware and proactive Procurement Manager to support the successful delivery of solar PV, battery energy storage and wider renewable energy projects.
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, sourcing materials, obtaining competitive quotes, supporting Project Managers with procurement requirements and ensuring purchase orders, costs and lead times are accurately tracked. This role will play an important part in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, commercially and to the required quality standards.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Management, Construction, Design & Development, Finance and site teams to ensure the business has access to reliable suppliers, competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
Essential Responsibilities for the Procurement Manager
Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and service providers.
- Identify, assess and recommend preferred suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, lead times and service levels.
- Maintain an up-to-date preferred supplier list for key materials, equipment and services.
- Negotiate supplier rates, payment terms and delivery arrangements where appropriate.
- Monitor supplier performance and raise concerns where standards, costs or delivery times are not being met.
- Source new suppliers and products to support business growth and project requirements.
- Keep the wider team informed of supplier rates, lead times, availability and any potential supply chain risks.
Procurement and Purchase Orders
- Maintain, manage and improve the company’s purchase order process.
- Ensure purchase orders are raised accurately, approved appropriately and recorded in line with company procedures.
- Place orders for materials, plant, equipment, services and other project requirements.
- Track order progress from placement through to delivery, ensuring any delays are communicated promptly.
- Liaise with suppliers, Project Managers, Site Managers and Finance to ensure orders, invoices and delivery notes are correctly matched.
- Support continuous improvement of procurement systems, processes and reporting.
Project Support
- Provide Project Managers with accurate and timely supply quotes for materials, equipment and services.
- Support project budgeting by providing current pricing, availability and lead time information.
- Track procurement costs against project budgets and highlight any risks, increases or variances.
- Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure materials and equipment are ordered in line with project programmes.
- Assist with urgent procurement requirements and resolve supply issues quickly and efficiently.
- Organise ad hoc payments for onsite staff where required, ensuring appropriate approvals and records are maintained.
Commercial and Technical Awareness
- Keep up to date with new products, materials, suppliers and technologies relevant to solar PV, BESS and renewable energy construction.
- Advise the team on new technology, improved products and alternative supply options.
- Support the business in identifying more cost-effective, efficient or sustainable procurement solutions.
- Assist with value engineering by identifying alternative products or suppliers without compromising quality, safety or compliance.
- Maintain awareness of market conditions that may affect pricing, availability or lead times.
Administration and Reporting
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information, quotes, purchase orders and cost data.
- Provide general administrative support to the wider team as required.
- Prepare procurement updates, supplier information and cost summaries when requested.
- Ensure all procurement documentation is organised, accurate and easily accessible.
- Support Finance with invoice queries, supplier account issues and payment information.
- Ensure procurement activity complies with internal procedures and approval processes

Experience and Qualifications for the Procurement Manager
Essential
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, buying, logistics, project support or a similar role.
- Experience managing suppliers and obtaining quotes.
- Strong administrative and organisational experience.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to manage purchase orders, supplier communications and cost records accurately.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience within construction, renewable energy, solar PV, battery storage, utilities, electrical contracting or infrastructure.
- Experience supporting Project Managers or construction/site teams.
- Knowledge of purchase order systems, supplier databases or project cost tracking.
- Understanding of plant, materials, electrical components or site-based procurement.
- Experience negotiating supplier terms, rates or framework agreements.
- Full UK driving licence.

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
