General Farm Worker

Dillington Estate & Farms – South Somerset

Dillington Estate & Farms is an 800-hectare mixed farming business in South Somerset, built around an integrated dairy and arable system focused on producing as much as possible from homegrown feed. We are commercially driven, performance-led and continually refining how we operate.

Our cows are milked through six Lely robots under a Tesco contract, with the wider system structured around efficient, sustainable production. The business was recently recognised at the Cream Awards for sustainability in dairying, but our focus remains firmly on delivering strong commercial results.

As the business continues to develop, we are looking to strengthen our full-time team with an additional member of staff.

The Role

This is a key operational position within a genuinely mixed system.

The role will involve working across all areas of the business, including dairy, forage, arable and slurry operations. As a business we carry out the majority of operations in-house, giving the right person exposure to a wide variety of work throughout the year. The balance shifts seasonally, so flexibility and willingness to get involved are essential.

You will work across the business and be expected to take responsibility where it is needed. The exact balance of responsibilities can develop around the strengths and progression of the right candidate.

The Person

We are open to speaking with candidates at different stages of their career, provided they have the right attitude, standards and willingness to take responsibility within a progressive mixed farming business.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership, sets high standards and wants to contribute to a capable and established team. You must be willing to get involved across all areas of the business and take pride in doing jobs properly.

For the right person, there is genuine opportunity to increase responsibility over time, with support and training available for someone aiming towards a future management role.

Shared accommodation is available in the village by separate agreement.
Competitive salary dependent on experience.
