Sherborne Schools Group is seeking a skilled and reliable Painter & Decorator to join our Estates Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the upkeep and presentation of our historic and modern school buildings, helping to provide an exceptional environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will undertake a variety of painting and decorating tasks across the Schools' sites, ensuring that buildings and facilities are maintained to a high standard. You will be self-motivated, take pride in your work, and be committed to delivering a high-quality finish.

Key Duties

Carry out internal and external painting and decorating works across the Sherborne Schools Group estate.
Prepare surfaces including sanding, filling, stripping, and priming prior to decoration.
Maintain classrooms, boarding houses, offices, communal areas, and other school facilities to a high standard.
Undertake minor repairs associated with decorating works.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Assist with planned maintenance programmes and respond to ad-hoc maintenance requests as required.
Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Estates Team and wider school community.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator.
Knowledge of painting, decorating, surface preparation, and finishing techniques.
Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of health and safety requirements within the workplace.
A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
