Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician specialising in both mechanical and electrical systems to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about automotive technology and eager to develop their expertise within a professional environment. Candidates must possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical issues
Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and replacements
Diagnose electrical faults using specialised diagnostic equipment and rectify issues accordingly
Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely when handling parts or components
Keep detailed records of all work carried out in accordance with company procedures
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician with knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical manuals and diagrams
Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various positions (standing, bending, kneeling)
Relevant qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent are preferred
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
