Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Painter / Decorator on a subcontract basis to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting and decorating services across a range of commercial and professional projects, ensuring exceptional standards of workmanship, attention to detail, and customer satisfaction.

The role involves surface preparation, application of paints, coatings, finishes and general decorative works, as well as maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Projects may include offices, retail units, educational facilities, healthcare settings, and other commercial properties, offering varied and rewarding work.

Candidates should be reliable, take pride in their work, and be capable of working both independently and as part of a team. A full UK driving licence is desirable, but transport will be provided to sites from our office in Swadlincote.

Duties

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling imperfections before painting or decorating
Apply paints, varnishes and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
Ensure all work meets safety standards and adheres to client specifications
Maintain a clean and organised workspace throughout each project
Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements
Assist in the planning and execution of decorating projects from start to finish
Follow health and safety regulations diligently during all tasks

Requirements

Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is desirable
Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
IPAF & CSCS card desirable
Ability to interpret technical drawings and instructions accurately
Driving licence is advantageous for site visits and transportation of materials,
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
Reliable, punctual, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Basic understanding of health and safety procedures related to painting and decorating tasks

Pay: £200.00-£300.00 per day
