Job Summary
Vertex Air Ltd are recruiting a Land Surveyor / Drone Pilot with experience in traditional land surveying and geospatial surveying.
Vertex Air is the CAA approved drone division of Vertex Access Group, delivering aerial survey and inspection services across the UK using a range of modern equipment. This includes terrestrial survey equipment, external drones carrying LiDAR, photogrammetry and other payloads, and confined space surveys using the Flyability Elios 3, among other capabilities.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering a combination of drone based and traditional survey work, including photogrammetry, aerial LiDAR, visual inspections and confined space inspections, alongside traditional topographic surveys. This position requires a land surveying background and a willingness to focus primarily on drone survey and inspection work, while continuing to carry out traditional survey work as required and in increasing volumes.
Responsibilities
- Carry out topographic and land surveys using total stations, GNSS and RTK corrections
- Plan and complete drone surveys for photogrammetry, aerial LiDAR and visual inspection
- Carry out confined space and internal inspections using the Flyability Elios 3
- Establish and check survey control to defined accuracy requirements
- Collect, process and validate geospatial data for engineering and construction use
- Produce accurate survey drawings, models and reports using AutoCAD and survey software
- Undertake drone survey and inspection work
- Maintain accurate flight logs, survey records and project documentation
- Liaise with clients and site teams to confirm and meet project requirements
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and site compliance at all times
- Maintain and care for all survey equipment
Skills
- Experience in land surveying, geomatics or a related discipline, ideally with a relevant qualification
- Topographic / land surveying: 3 years (prefered)
- Proficient with total stations, GNSS and data capture equipment
- Competent with AutoCAD and survey processing software
- Good understanding of coordinate systems, datum and data management
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Comfortable working outdoors in varied environments and conditions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of laser scanning, Cyclone and N4CE (advantageous)

Pay: £32,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
