We're looking for a Facilities Assistant to join our Stoke & Staffs Fire & Rescue team based in Stoke-on-Trent.

Location: Stoke & Staffs Fire & Rescue, Stoke-on-Trent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our supportive team in a role that combines finance administration with facilities management. As a Facilities Assistant, you'll play a vital part in ensuring smooth financial operations for the Stoke & Staffordshire Fire and Rescue PFI contract. You'll be joining a collaborative environment where your skills and contributions are valued, with excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Facilities Assistant, you'll be working within the Stoke & Staffs Fire & Rescue team, supporting them in delivering high-quality finance administration for the contract. Your day to day will include:

Managing Work In Progress financial trackers and raising purchase orders to maintain accurate budget oversight
Coordinating lifecycle requests and damage trackers, ensuring timely invoicing to the Authority
Supporting the Contracts Manager to maximise cashflow and minimise debt through effective financial monitoring
Liaising with the Supply Chain and central Finance team to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting
Maintaining quality systems and promoting an inclusive workplace culture within the team

What are we looking for?

This role of Facilities Assistant is great for you if:

You have previous experience working within the PFI industry and understand the contractual requirements
You hold a Full driving licence and are comfortable travelling between sites
You bring at least two years' experience in a similar finance administration or facilities role
You have strong knowledge of building maintenance and general facilities management
You're collaborative, trustworthy, and focused in your approach, with the flexibility to work occasional out-of-hours in emergencies
