As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Furniture Maker to become a key member of our workshop team.
This is an opportunity for a highly skilled furniture maker who enjoys taking ownership of projects, maintaining exceptional quality standards and supporting the development of others. You'll play an important role in ensuring every piece that leaves our workshop reflects the craftsmanship and attention to detail that Forest to Home is known for.
The Role
As a Senior Furniture Maker, you will:
- Manufacture high-quality furniture from technical drawings and production information.
- Take responsibility for projects from machining through to assembly and finishing.
- Set up and operate a wide range of woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all work meets Forest to Home's exacting quality standards.
- Help plan workflow and support the smooth running of the workshop.
- Mentor and support apprentices and less experienced furniture makers.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, quality and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in bespoke furniture making or cabinet making.
- Excellent knowledge of both traditional and modern furniture manufacturing techniques.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Outstanding attention to detail and pride in producing exceptional work.
- Experience using a full range of woodworking machinery and hand tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
Desirable
- Fork lift license.
- Previous experience mentoring apprentices or leading projects.
- Full UK driving licence.
