Full job description

Mellerstain Trust is searching for a capable and systematic individual to take up a managerial/administrative role within our small team. This Trust Administrator will support the resident Trustees in the management of a historic visitor attraction.

Based in the office at Mellerstain House the Trust Administrator will use online systems such as Xero, banking, payslip generators and other record keeping systems.

As well as handling the administrative functions of the trust, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and marketing of the public offering of Mellerstain House and managing a team of staff and contractors. The ideal candidate will be good at setting priorities, implementing reliable operating systems and problem solving.

We are looking for someone with integrity, reliability and a ‘can do’ attitude for our team. This job would appeal to somebody who loves a challenge in a friendly environment in a beautiful rural setting.

Objectives

To assist with the administration of Mellerstain House

To update existing Trust office systems and infrastructure

To support the Chairman in the coordination of House activities

Role

Collating and coordinating important tasks and deadlines

Receiving calls, following up external enquiries, actioning incoming mail

Managing databases and filing systems

Preparation and presentation of hours sheets for payment of wages

Recording of house admissions, cafe sales, and control systems

Banking and record keeping

Payment and issuing of invoices

Interface with accountants to provide up to date information

Monitoring health and safety compliance

Managing holiday cottage bookings

Liaise with contractors

Assist chairman in preparation of reports for Trustees meetings

Minute taking as and when required

Other duties, which may reasonably be required by the Trustees from time to time

Requirements
Excellent administration, attention to detail & organisational skills with the ability to deal with a busy workload effectively

HNC/SVQIII in Secretarial Studies/ Business Administration / other relevant subject

Solid IT skills including the use of the MS Office suite, Digital Dictation & an aptitude for picking up new digital systems effectively

Excellent communication skills - both written & verbal

The ability to be proactive and take the initiative

Ability to multi-task on a number of projects

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
