Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Pharmacist to join our healthcare team on a temporary basis to cover for maternity. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert pharmaceutical services, ensuring patient safety, and supporting clinical teams. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your specialised skills in a dynamic hospital environment, contributing to high-quality patient care. The position is fully paid and requires a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

Dispense prescriptions accurately in accordance with legal and organisational guidelines
Provide expert advice on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions
Support patient care through medication management and counselling
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise treatment plans
Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all pharmaceutical activities
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the pharmacy setting
Assist in inventory management, including stock checks and ordering supplies as needed
Participate in clinical audits and quality assurance processes to uphold service standards

Skills

Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to medication administration
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient groups
Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships with healthcare teams
Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently
Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and relevant legal frameworks governing pharmaceutical practice
