Role Overview We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Fast Fit Centre Manager to lead the daily operations of our busy workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, managing and developing the team, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and driving the commercial performance of the centre. As the Centre Manager, you will lead by example, maintaining our family values while ensuring the business operates safely, efficiently, and profitably. You will have a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service whilst achieving business targets and KPIs, inspiring your team to deliver exceptional results every day.
Key Responsibilities Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the fast fit centre.
- Plan and manage workshop schedules to maximise productivity and minimise customer waiting times.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional working environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and support technicians and front-of-house staff.
- Recruit, train, and develop team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching where required.
- Foster a positive team culture based on respect, accountability, and excellent customer care.
Customer Service
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience from enquiry through to vehicle collection.
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and effectively.
- Build long-term customer relationships through honesty, transparency, and trust.
- Ensure estimates and recommendations are communicated clearly without unnecessary upselling.
Sales & Business Performance
- Achieve sales, labour, and profitability targets.
- Identify opportunities to grow the business while maintaining excellent service standards.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance against key targets.
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships to control costs.
Technical Oversight
- Support technicians with technical guidance when required.
- Ensure repairs comply with manufacturer recommendations and industry best practice.
- Maintain high standards of quality control.
Administration
- Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Manage invoicing, cash handling, and reporting.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with company procedures.
Skills & Experience Essential
- Previous experience managing a fast fit, tyre, autocentre, or automotive workshop.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to drive sales and profitability.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Technical automotive qualifications.
- Experience with workshop management systems.
