GRP Laminator / Composite Technician

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced GRP Laminator / Composite Technician to join our Composite Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, quality-focused individual to join a growing manufacturing business. You will play an important role in producing high-quality GRP and composite components to support our commercial vehicle body manufacturing operation.
The Role
Working within a small and supportive team, you will be responsible for the preparation, lay-up and finishing of GRP composite components. You must be able to work independently when required, while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and productivity.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing moulds for lay-up
- Carrying out mould care, cleaning, and maintenance
- Applying release agents
- Applying gelcoat
- Hand lay-up and laminating using GRP materials
- Trimming, finishing, and preparing completed components
- Using hand tools safely and effectively
- Following job instructions, specifications, and quality requirements
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working area
- Supporting the wider Composite Department as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous experience in GRP laminating, hand lay-up or composite manufacturing.
You will have:
- Strong practical laminating skills
- Experience working with a range of GRP and composite materials
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Confidence using hand tools and workshop equipment
- The ability to follow instructions, drawings, and production specifications
- The ability to work independently and manage your workload
- A reliable, flexible, and positive approach to work
- The ability to work to deadlines without compromising quality
Experience within vehicle body building, automotive manufacturing, marine, construction, moulding or other composite manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
