The project: Our client is the utilities provider in the South-East geographic area. Their purpose is to deliver services in an environmentally sustainable, economically beneficial, and socially responsible manner and create sustainable long-term value for all.

The Planning Manager (Senior) will be responsible for supporting the Schedule Lead in the development and management of the overall schedule management which considers all methodologies required to develop and manage the schedule including working and reporting calendars, resources, costs, interfaces, claims, risks, constraints and assumptions.

The role holder shall provide leadership in scheduling and resourcing throughout the delivery of AMP8, ensuring that the schedule management plan is being complied with across the project, including by the Project Delivery Partner and the appointed contractor(s).

You’ll be responsible for:

Owning all aspects of the planning process including the integrated programme, critical paths, client programmes and the analysis and acceptance of contractor programmes.
Ensuring cost loading of programmes to the appropriate level of cost and progress capture.
Analysing contractor programmes and provide feedback to project management including run rates, schedule risks and mitigation measures/opportunities.
Ability to lead all aspects of contractual management for programme related events.
Directing key assignments, strengthen planning performance, and ensure effective project scheduling and monitoring.
Supporting strategic development, due diligence, and sustainable business growth.
Fostering collaboration, share best practice, and build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.

You’ll need to have:

5+ years’ experience in schedule management and a proven track record of conducting schedule management activities in high value water projects or projects of a similar scale / complexity.
Tangible experience of coordinating and organising multiple sources of schedule inputs / performance data into a master schedule platform and deliver project / program status reports as required
Proven track record of carrying out scheduling and resource management in multiple large scale / value projects and programmes
Prior experience of advanced capability and experience of scheduling systems administrative functions such as layouts resources, reports, codes, etc.
In-depth understanding of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural / engineering / construction sectors
Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of process and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting
Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector
