We’re a digitally led Managing General Agent (MGA) specialising in yacht insurance. Our platform enables brokers to quote and issue policies in minutes, combining deep marine insurance expertise with technology to bring transparency, speed, and simplicity to the market.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Underwriting & Operations Assistant to support our underwriting team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of risk assessment, financial analysis, and operational processes. The successful candidate will contribute to evaluating and processing insurance , ensuring compliance with company policies, and assisting in day-to-day operational tasks. Prior experience in insurance, accounting, or related fields is advantageous but not essential, alongside strong organisational and analytical skills.
Duties
Underwriting Support
- Assist underwriters in managing quotes and referrals on our digital platform
- Help issue and maintain insurance policies and ensure accurate record keeping
- Respond to broker and client queries with professionalism and clarity
- Support underwriters by preparing documentation, reports, and summaries for review
Broker & Client Service
- Support broker onboarding and relationship management
- Learn how to deliver great service at every stage of the policy lifecycle
- Communicate clearly and confidently, both in writing and over the phone
Team Collaboration
- Take part in regular team meetings and projects
- Share your insights and ideas - fresh perspectives are always welcome
- Learn from experienced colleagues across underwriting, claims, compliance, and tech
- Conduct research and analyse data to inform decision-making processes.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, approvals, and correspondence within operational databases.
- Help coordinate communication between departments to streamline workflow and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting enhancements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience or a strong interest in insurance, financial services, accounting, or related fields.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong numerical aptitude with a solid foundation in maths and analytical thinking.
- Effective negotiation skills to facilitate communication with clients and internal teams.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating initiative independently.

Pay: £27,500.00 per year
