Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Nursery Assistant to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young children within a safe and stimulating environment. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, contributing to early childhood education and fostering positive growth experiences for children. Prior nursery experience and a passion for childcare are essential, along with excellent communication skills and a caring attitude.

Responsibilities

Assist with the daily care and supervision of children, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
Support organised activities, including play, learning sessions, and creative projects tailored to various age groups.
Help maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming nursery environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging social interaction and emotional development.
Collaborate with senior staff to plan and implement age-appropriate educational programmes.
Support children's individual needs through personalised care and attention.
Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping and updating children's progress reports when required.
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's activities and development.

Skills

Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages.
Compassionate, patient, and attentive to children's individual needs.
Ability to engage children through creative activities and educational play.
Welsh Language skills - Would consider a keen learner
