MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician

Full-time | Permanent | Sirhowy Garage – Tredegar

Sirhowy Garage is a well-established independent garage with an excellent reputation for quality workmanship and outstanding customer service. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician to join our professional and friendly team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both carrying out MOT tests and working as a hands-on technician. We invest in modern equipment, maintain high workshop standards, and are committed to supporting our team's development.

The Role

As an MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for:

Carrying out Class 4 MOT tests in accordance with DVSA standards
Diagnosing vehicle faults using modern diagnostic equipment
Performing servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles
Replacing and repairing components including brakes, suspension, steering, clutches, timing belts/chains, exhausts and other mechanical systems
Identifying additional work required and reporting findings accurately
Completing all job cards, MOT documentation and digital records correctly
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop
Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standard

Essential Requirements

Valid Class 4 MOT Tester licence
Full UK driving licence
Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent attention to detail
Good communication and organisational skills
Pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service
