Head of Interface Pathway Development and Change

Shape the Future of Interface Care in Fife

NHS Fife is seeking an exceptional and visionary leader to take on the newly created role of Head of Interface Pathway Development and Change.

This is a unique opportunity to lead one of the most ambitious transformation programmes in Scotland, helping redesign how urgent and unscheduled care is delivered across acute, community and health and social care services.
Working directly with the Director of Acute Services and Director of Health and Social Care, you will drive the development of innovative, whole-system pathways that ensure patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

About the Role

As a senior leader within NHS Fife, you will spearhead transformational change across a diverse portfolio that includes:
Urgent and Unscheduled Care pathways
Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)
Hospital at Home services
NHS Fife Virtual Hospital
OPAT services
Frailty pathways
Community interface services
Flow navigation and admission avoidance programmes
Virtual wards and remote monitoring models

You will bring together Acute and Health and Social Care Partnership interface services, the Scottish Ambulance Service and other key partners to deliver integrated solutions that improve patient flow, reduce delays and deliver better outcomes for the people of Fife.

Key Strategic Priorities

This role will be pivotal in delivering several major developments, including:
Establishing and embedding the NHS Fife Virtual Hospital
Developing the next phase of the Fife Navigation Centre (FNC+) model
Expanding Hospital at Home services
Leading the development of a whole-system escalation and control room function
Driving pathway redesign across acute, primary and community services
Supporting the delivery of NHS Fife's wider strategic transformation agenda

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an inspirational leader who can navigate complexity, build strong partnerships and deliver large-scale change.

You will have:
Masters level education or equivalent experience
Significant senior leadership experience within the NHS or another large, complex public sector organisation
A strong track record of delivering complex service redesign and transformation programmes
Experience of strategic planning, programme management and pathway development
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills
Experience of leading multi-agency collaborations and working across organisational boundaries
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn insight into action
