NHS Fife Psychology is a large, friendly and supportive department that services the whole of Fife and includes all the major clinical specialties. We have an excellent reputation for innovation and developing staff.
We are looking to recruit a 1 x WTE Assistant Psychologist to work in the Psychological Interventions in Psychosis (PIP) Team. The PIP team is a specialist psychology team that consists of 2.8 WTE qualified clinical psychologists. The PIP team is Fife wide and works with individuals who have experiences of psychosis and associated psychological therapy needs. The PIP team receive most of their referrals from NHS Fife CMHT’s, outpatient psychiatry, inpatient mental health ward teams, and from the community rehabilitation team. The PIP team work closely with our referral partners, but we are not embedded within the CMHT’s or the acute inpatient ward teams. In PIP we offer a range of psychological therapy approaches including CBTp; CFTp; BFT, ACT and mindfulness based interventions.
The PIP team allocates some dedicated psychology time to the Mental Health rehabilitation service. The mental health rehabilitation service works with individuals with complex psychosis presentations. The Mental health rehabilitation service consists of a 10-bedded inpatient mental health rehabilitation ward and a community rehabilitation team. The PIP team have one psychologist embedded in the MH rehabilitation ward MDT; and some additional psychology time allocated to support the community rehabilitation team.
The remit of this role will be to support the clinical psychologists working in the PIP team. The work will include psychological assessment and delivery of low intensity interventions under supervision (group and individual), service audit, support with training and file reviews to support psychological formulations and forensic risk assessments. You will work across community settings and the inpatient rehabilitation ward.
You will also work closely with other members of the MH rehabilitation multidisciplinary teams and community support providers (i.e.: social care teams) to support the delivery of psychologically informed care.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
