Job Description
The Engineer is responsible for maintaining site plant and equipment through planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability and performance. The role includes managing spare parts, maintaining workshop standards, supporting production to minimise downtime, and ensuring all engineering work complies with Health & Safety, GMP, hygiene, and quality standards. The Engineer will work closely with production and technical teams, using a proactive and methodical approach to fault finding, maintenance planning, continuous improvement, and documentation.

What you’ll be doing:
As an Engineer,
- Ensure all engineering work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance to ensure plant and equipment are maintained to the highest standard.
- Maintain engineering stores and ensure spare parts stock levels are controlled and available when required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
- Ensure planned maintenance schedules are completed on time and recorded correctly.
- Maintain and develop engineering skills and knowledge through training and development.
- Perform any additional duties as required from time to time by the Engineering Maintenance Manager, ensuring flexibility to support evolving business needs.

- Computer literate (Excel, Word, maintenance systems)

Qualifications and experience
- Apprenticeship in an Engineering Discipline
- HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
- Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG environment (desirable)
- Knowledge of GMP and food safety standards
- Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems
