Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Tearooms Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food preparation and culinary arts, with a keen eye for food safety and presentation. Duties
- Prepare a variety of meals and baked goods in accordance with recipes and quality standards
- Cook and assemble dishes efficiently, maintaining consistency and presentation
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to, including proper storage, handling, and cleanliness
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection as required
- Maintain organisation of the kitchen area, including cleaning utensils, work surfaces, and equipment after use
- Serve food to customers in a friendly and professional manner when necessary
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of supplies needed for upcoming service periods
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure timely service
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a café, restaurant, or similar setting is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential
- Experience with meal preparation, baking, or pastry work is advantageous
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in a professional environment
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Prior experience in serving customers is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for all aspects of the role
