About the role
We are seeking a professional and motivated Training Instructor to join our growing training team. This is a unique dual-role opportunity combining operational security duties with the delivery of high-quality security training. Flexibility to work from either office location with the expectation of some travel.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining safe, compliant, and effective security operations while delivering engaging and compliant training to security personnel across the UK.
This position is ideal for someone with hands-on security experience (ideally in aviation) who is passionate about developing others and maintaining the highest professional standards.
Key responsibilities
- Aviation and/or other security training
- Support course design, audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities
- Deliver approved security training programmes including: Initial, and recurrent training; Remedial and practical training sessions; Toolbox training and Train the Trainer
- Deliver via classroom, practical, and blended learning methodology
- Conduct learner assessments and competency evaluations
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation
- Ensure all training aligns with relevant regulations, approved syllabi, lesson plans and security operating procedures
Skills and experience
Essential
- Formal qualification or certification (Min level 3) in vocational training such as PTTLS, CTLLS, DIT or TAP etc
- Experience within an airport security or other regulated security environment
- Eligible to become or already approved as an Aviation Security Trainer with CINs
- Strong understanding of aviation security procedures and compliance
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students/delegates
- Flexible approach to work, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Competent user of MS Software, specifically, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Desirable
- Experience delivering CAA compliant aviation security training
- Assessor or instructional qualifications – with CIN(s)
- Experience in screening, access control, or patrol operations
- Experience supporting audits or regulatory inspections
- Formerly a security officer, supervisor or manager
