AD Plant Operator
Salary: Starting salary of £28,121 per annum, plus shift allowance
Hours: 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (Monday to Sunday)
Shift Length: 10-hour shifts
Location: Middlesborough
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and reliable AD Plant Operator to join our team based at Middlesbrough. This is an opportunity to work within the renewable energy sector, helping convert organic waste into energy while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our plant.

The Role
As an AD Plant Operator, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the anaerobic digestion plant, ensuring it operates safely, efficiently and in compliance with company procedures and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate plant equipment to maximise performance and efficiency.
- Carry out routine plant inspections and record operational data.
- Feed the plant in accordance with operating procedures.
- Monitor process performance and report any abnormalities.
- Undertake routine cleaning and housekeeping to maintain high site standards.
- Carry out basic maintenance and assist the engineering team when required.
- Operate mobile plant equipment (where trained).
- Complete daily operational checks and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures.
- Respond to plant alarms and operational issues where required.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure continuous plant operation.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a positive, proactive attitude.
- Is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in an industrial environment.
- Has good mechanical awareness and practical problem-solving skills.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Is reliable, organised and safety conscious.
- Has basic computer skills for recording operational information.
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous experience working within an Anaerobic Digestion plant.
- Experience within agriculture, waste management, process operations or manufacturing.
- Telehandler, forklift or loading shovel licence.
- Mechanical or engineering experience.
Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
