Job Description

At Alpine Formula One Team, we have an opportunity to join our well-established Composites department as a Composite Technician – Assembly on a Fixed Term Contract working on our nightshift.

Composite Technician (Assembly) - The Role

To carry out the precise trimming, assembly, and finishing of composite components to meet high standards of quality, safety, and production efficiency. The role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Trim composite components using hand tools, air tools, and templates to meet tight tolerances.
Assemble composite parts using bonding techniques, adhesives, and mechanical fasteners.
Interpret and follow technical drawings, lay-up schedules, and work instructions.
Conduct surface preparation, sanding, deburring, and finishing operations.
Perform visual inspections and report any defects or non-conformances.
Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work area.

Person Specification

Essential:

Proven experience in a similar composites trim and assembly role.
High level of skill in using hand and power tools for precision work.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Flexible and positive approach to achieving team and production targets.
Ability to work effectively as part of a wider team across different shifts.
Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working area.
Organised and self-motivated with a proactive attitude.

Desirable:

Experience in motorsport, aerospace, or high-performance manufacturing.
Knowledge of composite materials such as carbon fibre and glass fibre.
Familiarity with bonding techniques and adhesive systems.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
