We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join our busy café bistro in the heart of Chichester.

Working closely with the General Manager and Business Owner, you will help lead and inspire the team while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our café bistro. We take pride in serving top-quality food and beverages and creating a welcoming experience for every customer.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the management and development of the front-of-house team.
Maintain high standards of customer service, food quality, and presentation.
Assist with staff training, scheduling, and performance management.
Be in charge of compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations for the front of house areas, KP area, stairway, stock room, staff room and staff WC but not the main kitchen.
Help manage stock control, ordering, and daily operational procedures.
Lead by example during busy service periods.
What We're Looking For:
Significant experience in hospitality management, preferably within a café, restaurant, or bistro environment.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
A positive, energetic, and hands-on approach.
Very fit and healthy physically.
The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
A genuine passion for hospitality and customer satisfaction.
Flexibility to work a mixture of weekdays and Sundays and some early evenings until 7pm and busy seasonal periods as required.

About Luckes Cafe-Bistro
We are a local Independent Bistro in North St Chichester set up 8 years ago but Mel Luckes -a Chef-Nutritionist.
We serve Brunch and Lunch all day. We are all about creating delicious handmade food and drink, using as much local, seasonal and organic produce as possible with an emphasis on plant based food at the centre of everything - loved by vegans and vegetarians. We have designed the menu so customers can add meat and fish to some of the dishes too. 80% of our menu is gluten free.
We bake all our cakes in house - 16 different types!
We have a great following of loyal customers, some of whom come in daily who we know by name. Customers order at the bar and are served their food and drinks at the table.
Our coffee is very popular, renowned for being the best in Chi. It is made from a combination of top quality organic beans and organic milk from the Goodwood Estate, made on a top of the range La Marzocco Espresso Machine.
We make our own cold pressed raw juices and have a a very good selection of cold drinks and excellent quality wine.
As a family run business we are a close knit team which is a lovely environment to work in. We are open 7 days a week during the day and are about to stay open a few early evenings a week until 7pm to capture pre theatre business and Deliveroo orders for healthy evening meal delivery locally.

Qualifications
Barista experience understanding of coffee preparation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Skills in food plating up
- Excellent time management abilities to ensure efficient operations
- Strong customer service skills to enhance the dining experience

Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
