Purpose of the Role
The Bookkeeper / finance manager is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping operations for the group companies, and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of general office administration. The role supports the CEO and Directors by providing accurate financial information, analysis, and operational support to assist with effective business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for two group companies using Sage Line 50.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, including the management of European VAT on imports and related transactions.
- Prepare and issue monthly sales invoices (circa 400+ per month), ensuring timely distribution at the end of each month.
- Process and administer payroll for approximately 12 employees (and growing)
- Manage supplier payments, ensuring that all suppliers are paid accurately and on time.
- Complete bank reconciliations and maintain regular oversight of company bank accounts accross multiple currencies.
- Prepare the monthly Profit & Loss statement for review by the Directors.
- Assist with Year-End accounts preparation for submission to the company’s external accountants.
- Oversee debtor control activities, supporting the team member responsible for collections and providing the Directors with periodic updates on outstanding or problematic accounts.
HR
· Undertake all HR functions including recruitment process and maintaining staff records.
Office Management
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the office, ensuring all administrative and operational processes are efficient and effective.
- Manage office resources and maintain systems to support smooth business operations.
- Liaise with suppliers, service providers, and contractors as required.
Reporting and Analysis
- Assist the CEO with financial analysis and management reporting as required.
- Provide accurate and timely information to support management decisions.
General Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial, legal, and operational policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Undertake any other tasks or duties that may be required by the business, not listed above, in line with the overall purpose of the role.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
