Main purpose of the role:
The Central Parts Operative is a 12‑month maternity cover position supporting the Parts Supervisor/Group Parts Manager. The role manages the pricing, ordering, storage and issuing of parts and consumables across multiple sites, ensuring accurate administration, strong supplier liaison and efficient parts flow to workshop and inspection teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Parts & consumables ordering — place, record and track orders within Group systems, ensuring accuracy and KPI compliance.
- Pricing control — input correct pricing for customer authorisation, ensuring best commercial value.
- Supplier & site liaison — work closely with suppliers, parts departments and inspection teams across multiple sites.
- Stock control — maintain stock accuracy, manage non‑returnable parts, monitor returns and ensure correct system entries.
- Workshop support — issue parts promptly, communicate order progress, backorders and alternative solutions.
- Consumables management — order, allocate and control consumable stock across sites.
- Skills and Knowledge we are looking for:
- Problem solving and ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
- Communication skills with ability to liaise across multiple sites and suppliers.
- IT literacy including MS Office and database systems.
- Workshop or dealership background beneficial but not essential.
- Stock control experience with strong accuracy and organisation.
- Customer service with strong front‑line communication
- Full UK Driving Licence.
