CNC Operator / General Woodworker

Job Description
Cattles Specialist Woodwork is looking for a skilled or semi-skilled CNC Operator / General Woodworker to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in woodworking, CNC machining, manufacturing, or engineering who is looking to develop their career within a specialist and rewarding woodworking environment.
The successful applicant will be well organised, have good communication skills, and demonstrate a strong attention to detail. A good level of IT proficiency is required, and experience with design software would be advantageous.
The role will involve a variety of workshop duties, including the assembly and finishing of hardwood glazing bead frames, general woodworking tasks, and the operation of CNC machinery. We use AlphaCam software for CNC programming, so experience with AlphaCam or similar CAD/CAM software would be highly beneficial. Depending on experience and skill level, the successful candidate may also be involved in CNC programming, machine setup, and optimisation of machining processes.
Applicants with previous CNC woodworking experience are encouraged to apply, although candidates with transferable manufacturing or woodworking skills who are keen to develop further will also be considered.
Requirements:
- Experience in woodworking, CNC machining, engineering, or manufacturing preferred.
- Experience using AlphaCam or similar CAD/CAM software would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Basic IT skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or over for insurance purposes.
There will be a three-month probationary period to assess suitability for the role.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Overtime is often available and may occasionally be required.
Salary
£29,000 - £36,000 per year, depending on experience and skill level.
