Product & Marketplace Operations Manager
Location: Rochford Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per year + performance bonus Reports to: Directors Team size: 12+
We're looking for a highly organised, commercially minded Product & Marketplace Operations Manager to own the full product launch lifecycle across our fast-paced e-commerce business, from the moment a product is ordered from our overseas suppliers through to being fully live and selling across Amazon, eBay, Debenhams, SHEIN and other marketplaces.
Our internal software tracks every stage of the product lifecycle. Your job is to make sure each stage is completed quickly, accurately and to a higher standard than our competitors, and to lead the team that makes that happen.
You'll be joining a team that needs more structure and pace, and you'll have full backing from the directors to raise standards, improve processes and build a culture of accountability. This is a genuine ownership role: the speed and quality of our product launches, and the health of our existing catalogue, will sit with you.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Launch Management
- Own the full product journey from purchase order to live marketplace launch, using our internal lifecycle software to track progress, deadlines and bottlenecks.
- Work closely with buying, content, photography, design, marketplace and warehouse teams to keep products moving, and step in quickly when things stall.
- Ensure listings are complete, accurate and commercially optimised before launch: titles, descriptions, images, keywords, pricing and variations, tailored to each platform's requirements.
- Make sure the team researches competitor listings before every launch, and that ours are stronger, clearer and more appealing.
- Launch products consistently across all relevant marketplaces as soon as stock is available.
Existing Catalogue & Seasonal Readiness
- Take ownership of our current live listings, not just new launches.
- Audit and upgrade existing product listings ahead of our key seasonal events, ensuring images, content, pricing and variations are up to standard before peak trading begins.
- Identify underperforming or outdated listings across the catalogue and prioritise improvements based on commercial impact.
- Ensure seasonal ranges are fully live, accurate and competitive well in advance of demand.
Sales Growth & Optimisation
- Monitor post-launch sales performance and work with the team to improve conversion on underperforming listings.
- Use sales data, reviews and customer feedback to drive continuous listing improvements.
- Reduce listing errors, compliance issues and marketplace rejections.
Team Leadership
- Manage the team responsible for product setup, content, listings and marketplace launches.
- Set clear responsibilities, deadlines and quality expectations, and follow up to make sure work is progressing.
- Monitor individual and team performance against KPIs, providing training and support where needed and addressing performance issues promptly and professionally.
- Lead by example: bring energy, direction and high standards, and help the team see how their work drives sales growth and business success.
How Success Will Be Measured
- Speed from product order, and from stock arrival, to full marketplace launch.
- Marketplace sales growth.
- Listing quality and accuracy, including readiness of existing ranges ahead of seasonal peaks.
- Improvement of under performing listings.
- Team productivity and task completion.
The Ideal Candidate
You're a firm but fair leader who takes ownership and pushes work forward without needing to be chased. You're comfortable asking questions, challenging delays and holding people accountable, while motivating and supporting the team at the same time. You understand that in e-commerce speed matters, but never at the expense of quality, accuracy or commercial thinking.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in e-commerce, marketplace operations, product listings or online retail.
- Experience managing or supervising a team.
- Strong working knowledge of marketplace platforms such as Amazon and eBay.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple products, deadlines and priorities at once.
- Confidence using systems, spreadsheets and workflow software.
- Commercial awareness and a track record of improving processes.
Desirable Experience
- Amazon Seller Central, eBay and other platform listing tools.
- Managing product launches across multiple platforms.
- Improving listing performance and sales conversion.
- Managing KPIs, workflows and team performance in a fast-paced environment.
Why Join Us?
This is a chance to take real ownership of a key part of a growing e-commerce business: managing a team, improving systems, speeding up launches and directly driving sales growth across multiple marketplaces. If you're ambitious, organised and excited by the challenge of making a launch process faster, smoother and more commercially successful, we'd love to hear from you.
