Genesis Orwell Mencap are a charity providing day support services to adults with disabilities in Ipswich from our location in Wright Road.
We are looking for a minibuse driver to transport our customers to and from Wright Road at the following times: 8:00am to 9.30am and 3:15pm to 4:45pm, Monday to Friday.
The role requires:
- Building postive and professional relationships with customers and their support network
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the mini bus
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel
- Assist in the fuelling of mini buses with company fuel card
- To work in a effective, safe and flexible manner to support the needs of the Charity
- Ability to adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Follow established routes and schedules
- Assist customers with boarding and exiting the mini bus as needed including manoeuvring and securing wheelchairs. A reasonable level of fitness is required.
A trained support worker will be present at all times in the vehicle to administer any care / medical intervention necessary to our customers.
Requirements
- Full valid UK driving licence including D1
- 2 years minimum driving experience
- Reasonable level of fitness to manoeuvre customers in wheelchairs and strap into the floor of the vehicles (training will be given)
- First Aid training provided
- Subject to Enhanced DBS check
Pay: £13.00 per hour
