Full job description

The Butcher's Block is an award-winning, independent butcher based in the heart of Banstead. We pride ourselves on quality, craftsmanship, exceptional customer service and supplying the very best produce.

We're looking for a passionate, skilled and knowledgeable Butcher to join our growing team. No two days are the same. Every day is busy, fast-paced and different. You'll be joining a fantastic team, working with premium produce and enjoying plenty of opportunities to develop your craft and further your skills.

We pride ourselves on delivering first-class customer service and building lasting relationships with our customers, so a friendly, positive attitude is essential!

Key Responsibilities:

Cutting, boning, trimming and preparing a wide range of meat products
Producing high-quality retail cuts and value-added products
Maintaining attractive, well-stocked displays and counters
Providing exceptional customer service and product knowledge and advising customers on cuts, cooking methods and recommendations.
Ensuring all food hygiene and health & safety procedures are followed
Assisting with stock management and waste control
Supporting the wider team with day-to-day operations
Maintaining the high standards and reputation of The Butcher's Block

What We're Looking For:

Previous butchery experience is essential 2 years +
Skilled in cutting, boning, trimming and preparing a wide range of meat products to a consistently high standard
Strong knowledge of meat quality, provenance and product preparation
Outstanding customer service skills with the confidence to engage with customers, provide recommendations and share product knowledge
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards throughout the shop
Ability to manage stock effectively, minimise waste and maintain product quality
Full UK driving licence preferred, as there may be occasional opportunities to assist with deliveries for our wholesale business
Reliable, hardworking and able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to support the wider team wherever needed
A genuine passion for quality food, traditional craftsmanship and delivering first-class customer service

Language Requirements:

Fluent spoken and written English (required)

Experience:

Minimum 2 years butchery experience preferred

Licence/Certification:

Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)

Work Location:

In person – Banstead, Surrey

Working Hours:

Tuesday – Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm

Saturday: 7:00am – 4:00pm

Sunday & Monday Off
